It has quite a few shops where you can find clothes, socks, sweaters, and shoes. You just have to look around and ask, although most places tend to sell at similar prices. The clothing here is of Ecuadorian quality. More shops are open on Saturdays; it's generally not as crowded during the week. There are also hair salons.

A great traditional spot in Guaranda is Plaza 15 de Mayo. Although its original form has changed, it remains a meeting point for events, a traditional place for weekly shopping, and a source of enduring souvenirs like the frescoes of Mamá Anita and Chimborazo, hornado (roasted pork), fruits, and more. The traditional Plaza 15 de Mayo is etched in the collective and historical memory of the city.
